If you persevere with butter that’s too cold, your baking can turn out heavy and dense, and if you heat it too quickly, it can result in an oily batter that creates slightly soggy, flatter-than-you’d-like cakes and cookies – definitely not showstoppers. Patented HeatSoft technology

Such a brilliant idea, and a ‘life-saver’ for bakers who are short on time and like to bake biscuits and cakes with proper butter rather than a baker’s spread – Breville’s patented HeatSafe Technology combines the gentle heating power of a warm air blower with the mixing and blending capabilities of their very efficient hand mixer. Instead of waiting for butter to soften to room temperature, just dice it, add it to your mixing bowl and switch on the HeatSoft function before you start the beaters. In just a few minutes the butter will be softened and starting to cream with your sugar.

TIP: Always use the lowest speed setting until the butter has softened and you can turn the HeatSoft function off.

7 speeds plus boost

Controlled by a simple sliding tab, this hand mixer has 7 speeds to choose from – from 1 for finely powdered ingredients and creaming butter and sugar with the HeatSoft option, to 7 for whipping egg whites into stiff peaks – and there’s a push button that boosts the speed you’ve selected to give a heavier mixture that little extra oomph without having to change the setting completely.

Beater eject button

There’s no need to wrestle with the beaters when you want to change from one thing to another – a button at the front releases the tools for you, so you can switch from beaters to whisk and back again without wasting time.

Easy to store

Cleverly thought out, the HeatSoft Hand Mixer clicks neatly into its own bespoke storage tub with plenty of room at the bottom for the beaters, dough hooks and whisk along with the flex, which has its own power cord wrap to keep it neatly under control.

Easy to clean

All the tools are dishwasher safe, so once your cake is in the oven your clean-up can be as speedy as you need it to be. The copper-coloured metal nozzle of the HeatSoft jet is magnetic and can be removed for cleaning, and the heater vent beneath the flex is also removable so you can clean the air filter. The body of the hand mixer is easy to wipe clean with a damp cloth.
