A brilliant addition to any keen cook’s armoury, the Meater+ Smart Meat Thermometer is a world first! A leave-in meat thermometer with no trailing wires or cables, it can be left in the joint of meat because it syncs to your smartphone or tablet so you don’t have to keep opening the oven door – and wasting heat – to check on progress. You can be as much as 50 metres away from the stove or barbecue while your food is cooking – so whether you’re weeding your vegetable patch, or playing footie with the family at the bottom of the garden while supper cooks, you can still keep an eye on things as the signal will reach that far.

For roasting, griddling and barbecues

Fabulous for roasting any joint of meat, oven-baked fish, and ensuring that any type of poultry is properly cooked all the way through – especially important for a festive turkey or goose – you can also use the Meater Plus for checking on griddled steaks to be certain of perfection when cooking for a special guest.

And it’s brilliant for barbecues too, particularly if you’re using a kettle barbecue to slow-roast a large joint of meat. The ambient temperature sensor will sound an alarm via your phone if there’s a flare-up of heat or flames in progress, so you can save the day, calm the flames, and avoid a Cajun-style char-grilled finish if that’s not what you’d planned.

Ultra-easy to operate

Before using the Meater+ Thermometer, the probe needs to be charged for at least 4 hours so it can talk to its base unit and the app you’ve installed on your smartphone or tablet. But it’s simplicity itself to use: just insert the probe into a thick section of the meat and follow the easy instructions on your screen to let it know what you’re cooking and how you want it cooked (from rare to very well done). The app estimates the cooking time, followed by the optimum resting time, so when you serve your meal, the centrepiece will be cooked to perfection!

Includes one AAA battery. One charge lasts for 24 hours continuous cooking time. One battery will provide up to 100 charges.

Please note: it is important that the probe is not in contact with your roasting tray, pan or any oven shelves, or racks.

Technical specification: compatible with Amazon Alexa, the app can be downloaded to more than one device so everyone in the family can be alerted when things are cooked. You can use your home Wifi to extend the wireless range – all you need is a second smart phone or tablet to bridge the connection to your home WiFi network.
